Transitions

Isaiah 43:19

Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

We should always be in a transition when we have the Holy Spirit working in us and through us. God never changes, but we do. We are transforming into His beloved image day by day, a goal that will not be reached until we are in Heaven with Him.

Transition is defined as the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another. Synonyms include: change, move, passage, transformation, conversion, adaptation and metamorphosis, just to name a few.

I have gone through some outward transitions. Like giving birth, quitting my job to stay home with babies and buying a new house. But there are transitions, changes, that are unseen. God is working on my heart daily. His word truly cuts into the deepest unseen places in me. He continues to reveal parts of His character to me that I was once unaware of.

As I change into the image of Christ, I am learning more about myself, too. God has always had a perfect plan for my life. The devil works hard to destroy God’s creation. Satan wants us to lay down our faith and walk away from it. He tries to invoke fear into our hearts. He tries to distract us. He tries to condemn us. But Christ came so that we can have life eternally and He gave us power over all of these attacks.

Transitions sometimes reveal to us what we are made of. I recently heard a minister say that the fruit of a person is best known when it is squeezed. No one knows how juicy and sweet a pretty orange is until they squeeze it. We know what it appears to be, but it may not be as sweet as it looks. During transitions we sometimes get squeezed and as we change, we see what we are made of. Hopefully our fruit is sweet and juicy. If we have God on the inside of us, it doesn’t matter how hard we get squeezed, we win.

God did not say the weapons would not form, but He said they would not prosper. I continue to identify myself with Christ. I have His name. I am His child. He has good plans for me. I am obeying and changing quietly, yet swiftly into the woman He called me to be. I would like to encourage others to speak out the goodness of God for the world to hear. Shine your light in the darkness.
